Swedish Liberalism On Fire
From Cavatus
(Cavatus’ Blog) is not often updated nowadays. It won’t be henceforth.
My work — in order to try to save this country — is restricted to flyer campaigns and (talking) with people. But, I cannot withhold this video clip from you.
Sweden has disgraced itself internationally because of the riots last week. But don’t believe that it all has ceased by now. Every night there are cars on fire and other subversive mischief in the immigration suburbs. In the wake of the first riots, in all 70 suburbs and places have been struck so far by the consequences of Sweden’s downright failed immigration policy.
A politician — a member of one of the ruling parties (Olle Engström in Borås) — had a letter-to-the-editor published yesterday in the newspaper Borås Tidning, in which he rejected the uncontrolled immigration policy, and dreaded that Sweden would shortly fall into a religious civil war if nothing is done … like Lebanon and such countries.
Today, (Engström) was excluded from his party, Moderaterna (“the Moderates”). Today, a fellow party member had a letter-to-the-editor published in the same newspaper, where he maintained that “it is not the immigration that gives frightening consquences for the society; it is the blind criticism without nuances of it”.
I mention this just to show you how completely impossible it is to talk about the quantity of immigrants that Sweden can embrace, and the results of the quantities received so far. So despite nationwide riots, we are still not allowed or able to talk about it, unless we want to be labelled “racists”, foremost by the media and the journalists. This is, in fact, an indication of Sweden’s severe predicament. >Source
Cambria Will Not Yield says ”The liberals tell us straight out that White people have no rights as a people, except the right to be exterminated. The second materialist flaw in the “I’ll respect your culture and you respect mine” is that the colored tribesmen do not believe in respecting other cultures. Their idea of culture is, “We shall destroy your culture.” This is true of every colored tribe: red, yellow, black, and brown. An awareness of the spiritual battle will allow the European to see that he cannot compromise with the colored barbarians, or the liberals.” … more

A African novel, an American novel...
The Beautiful Things That Heaven Bears by Dinaw Mengestu, 2007.
Public debate surrounding immigration is even more heated now than it was in 2007 when this book was published. Mengestu personalizes the immigration “issue”. The narrator is from Ethiopia, and his best friends are from Kenya and Congo. They share a history of violent dislocation.
Stephanos, the narrator, owns a struggling store in a struggling Washington DC neighborhood. A woman moves in and renovates a large, once elegant house, and change imposes itself on the community. Stephanos and the woman are mutually attracted, but somehow keep “missing” each other. Loneliness is the theme of this book.
This is a well written book. I feel like I got to know some people I’m might otherwise not have encountered.
The book seems to also have another title, Children of the Revolution. I found this out from Amazon.com, when I looked to see what else Mengestu wrote. A second book, How to Read the Air, was published in 2010. I hope he keeps writing.

Syrians accuse Greece of ‘pushing back’ migrant boats
By Sue Lloyd-Roberts
BBC Newsnight
Some of the Syrians fleeing the conflict in their country have crossed Turkey aiming for Greece, in order to claim asylum in the European Union. But to get there they have to take to boats – and there have been persistent reports of Greek officials pushing them back into Turkish waters, sometimes with fatal results.
“Everything we would do for our families and our fathers, we do the same thing for these people. We bury them in the Islamic way,” says Ekrem Serif-Oamadoglou, as he points to 400 freshly dug graves clustered on the remote hillside.
The cemetery is just outside Sidiro, a Muslim village on the Greek side of the Evros river, close to where it forms a fast-flowing, kilometre-wide barrier between Greece and Turkey.
The 400 dead are all people who have drowned as they attempted to cross the river and slip illegally into Europe. It is only here, at the end, that they find friends in Greece, the members of the local Muslim community who bury them.
“They came from places all over the world, but we regard them as brothers,” says Serif-Oamadoglou, the local imam’s son. “They came here for a better life, but unfortunately they were unlucky.”…

Baqa'a Clean Up!
There is a huge problem with trash in Jordan. It comes from a lot of factors, which I’ll skip over theorizing on now, but the point is litter is everywhere and people take a very nonchalant attitude towards it. In fact, it is not strange to be walking behind someone and see him drop a wrapper/cigarette/coffee cup onto the ground as he walks – without a second glance.
In Baqa’a this problem is even more evident, exasperated by the fact that there are even worse services than in Amman (trash pick up, sewage, etc).
Trash outside a school
The OWA is not immune.. in fact the outside area we play in has been almost unuseable due to trash, glass, and stones strewn across it.
So for “Earth Day,” Marah, Nadine, and I decided to do something about it. We organized a “Baqa’a Beautification Day” to teach the children about respecting the environment and take action by cleaning up our own center.
Nadine filmed our class as we discussed why its important to clean the earth — the problems currently faced in our community — and what we can do about it. Then, of course, we sang songs and colored pictures. To close, Nadine interviewed some students and made a 60 second film for us:
“It’s Earth Day at the Orphan Welfare Association! Baqa’a is the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Jordan, with more than 100,000 registered refugees. A few excited kids tell us, in 60 seconds, how we can live more sustainably and care for the environment. They remind us what we already know, but sometimes forget: we all share the Earth.”
Isn’t she amazing? Aren’t the kids adorable? I truly believe that education is the only way to change a huge, complicated, societal problem like littering here in Jordan. Our kids will be on the front lines, telling their friends about how Miss Julie and Miss Marah never throw trash on the ground and yza3lu (get sad) whenever someone does..
Here are some shots from our clean up of the center:
