The online journal of studies on women’s memory DEP.“Deportees, Exiles, Refugees” (Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, http://www.unive.it/dep where you can find a brief presentation in English) announces a call for papers for a special issue on the theme “Gender and forced migration: displaced women in contemporary China”. We are especially interested in articles dealing with gender and development-induced displacement in the Chinese context including both direct and indirect forms of displacement. Analyses of the relationship between women’s forced migration and the Chinese development model as well as ethnographic research on displaced women’s experiences are both welcome.

* Women’s migration and local politics
* Migration and women’s networks and associations
* Ethnic identity in gendered migration
* Migration, women’s health and family planning
* Migration and sex-slavery
* Family displacement and children’s experience
* Women’s resistance to displacement
