This book, written in Portuguese, is a result of a PhD dissertation defended in 2008 about the integration of refugees in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and in Toronto, Canada. It characterizes the global refugee regime, the Brazilian and the Canadian societies and how refugees are integrated there. Then, it deals with the social capital produced by refugees there and the extent to what this amount of social capital is a result of the cultural background that refugees bring with them from the country of origin or is a result of the public policy adopted in the host place. Three different groups of refugees were interviewed and studied: Arab-Muslims refugees, Latin-American spanish speaking refugees and African Portuguese speaking refugees. The methodology used was transdisciplinarity. The book has 434 pages and ISBN is 9788571775428. Buy it at  http://www.edufal.com.br/2008/index.php?pagina=detalhes&id_prod=11259&id_categ=25
