Age and generation in migration contexts - working group

Welcome to the working group on age and generation in migration contexts! This group welcomes all researchers working on age and generational issues in migration contexts. It is open to anyone researching across the age spectrum (from infancy to old age) and/or analyzing intra- and inter-generational relations in situations of migration, broadly defined. We are initially starting off with Canada-based researchers, with a view to linking to international initiatives after the first year.

The working group envisages the following activities over the 2010-2011 year:

  1. creation and maintenance of a contact database of Canada-based researchers working on age and generation in migration contexts;
  2. creation and moderation of an on-line discussion forum, with links to other relevant websites and networks;
  3. organization of research meetings to facilitate information exchange and collaborative research; and,
  4. organization of a seminar/roundtable on a relevant theme and dissemination of presentations through a working paper series, special journal issue and/or edited volume.

We welcome your ideas and participation! To contact the working group coordinator directly, please email: cclark-kazak at glendon.yorku.ca.
