We are pleased to announce that the International Journal of Disaster Resilience in the Built Environment (IJDRBE) has  published its inaugural issue.   Access to the International Journal of Disaster Resilience in the Built Environment (IJDRBE) is free online from 1st April until 1st June 2010.  Please visit the journal web site at www.emeraldinsight.com/ijdrbe.htm to read the editorial and other articles from the first issue.

IJCRBE aims to develop the skills and knowledge of the built environment professions and other professions working in disaster mitigation and reconstruction, so that they may strengthen their capacity in strategic and practical aspects of disaster preparedness, rehabilitation and reconstruction to mitigate the effects of disasters nationally and internationally.  The journal will contain a mix of academic papers, book reviews, case studies and field studies. It will promote the exchange of ideas between practitioners, policy-makers and academics, and provide a unique forum for novel enquiries into the development and application of new and emerging practices as a source of innovation to challenge current thinking.   For more information and details on the full coverage of IJDRBE please visit the journal website: http://www.emeraldinsight.com/ijdrbe.htm.

If you are interested in publishing your work in the journal, you may refer to the author guidelines for details on how to submit an article through our online submission and peer review system: http://info.emeraldinsight.com/products/journals/author_guidelines.htm?id=ijdrbe.

IJDRBE is indexed in: British Library, Construction and Building Abstracts, ICONDA - The International Construction Database, Business Source Premier (EBSCO), ABI INFORM Global (ProQuest), Cambridge Scientific Abstracts (ProQuest) and INSPEC.
