First international workshop on improved shelter response and environment for refugees

Summary of proceedings of the first international workshop on improved shelter response and environment for refugees: 29, 30 June, 1 July 2003, Geneva. The objectives of the workshop were as follows: A UNHCR shelter concept to deal with both emergency and long term shelter needs; A policy framework and means for its implementation; A standing forum on refugee shelter to coordinate experience and dissemination of information; and, an exhibition of tried and available products and a number of related innovations in process.
