Job Vacancy: Project Worker - Medact, London

Deadine / Event Date:
2010/07/29 - 13:40 - 2010/08/12 - 13:40

Medact is currently recruiting a Project Worker.

The role will be based at our offices near Old Street in London. The
Project worker will be working with the Co-ordinator of the Refugee
Health Network.

The post is a 4 month fixed contract, 2.5 days per week.

About the Refugee Health Network:
The Refugee Health Network (RHN) focuses on ensuring vulnerable migrants
have access to the health care they need. The current users of the RHN
are health professionals, charities and academics. The RHN aims to
improve access to health care for, and health outcomes of, vulnerable
migrants by identifying and address emerging relevant health issues and
concerns, ensuring the dissemination of information and promoting good
practice.

About the role:
Due to a changed external environment and the increased availability of
social networking resources, we are upgrading our current RHN,
maximising its potential for meeting the needs of current users and for
supporting vulnerable migrants in protecting and advocating for their
own health. We will do this both by changing the format of the
network--by developing a framework which puts us more closely in touch
with the needs of our users--and by expanding the group membership to
include migrant umbrella and advocacy groups. The new network will allow
users to access more targeted information.

The postholder will:
- consult current users on their present use of the RHN
- consult the members of migrant health organisations
- assist the Project Co-ordinator with the design, update and launch of
the updated RHN & website.

The closing date for applications is 12 August 2010.
