United Nations Secretary General, declaring 2009 as the year of Climate Change, has called for 'responsibility to protect' in the realm of human rights and 'responsibility to deliver' in larger sphere of common international action. Anthropogenic climate change leads to biophysical transformation on the global scale engendering localised stresses in the forms of coastal erosion, ice melt, infertile land and deteriorating water sources.These stresses threaten critical minimum basic needs of vulnerable socities without the capabilities of adaption and resilence.
Whilst Southeast Asian states have their own individual experiences with both forced migration and terrorism some have significant regional implications. This chapter looks at what the experiences of the region are and how they shape the interactions between the states.
This report documents and analyzes countrywide trends in the relationship between human security and livelihoods throughout rural Afghanistan from 2002-2003. All countrywide information is generated by analyses of 2003 Nationwide Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (NRVA) survey data. All analyses of NRVA data, unless otherwise noted, are conducted by the Tufts University team. In addition, the report includes detailed analyses on six provinces based on primary research by the Tufts team in Badghis, Balkh, Herat, Kabul, Kandahar, and Nangarhar.

This 3-month, fully-accredited diploma course will take place from April-June 2011 and 2012.
