“Research Supporting Practice in Education’ (RSPE) is a program of research and related activities aimed at learning more about building strong linkages between research, policy and practice. We call these efforts Knowledge Mobilization (KM).

Knowledge Mobilization and Forced Migration

The resources below build on the understanding of KM, with links to KM resources relating directly to the area of forced migration.

KnowledgeMig is based at the School of Social and Political Studies, University of Edinburgh. Its members are active participants of the Migration and Citizenship Research Group, founded by a Marie Curie Excellence Grant which operated between 2004 and 2008. It includes a repository of books and special issues, book chapters, articles and policy briefs relating to knowledge translation and migration policy.

What is KM and why is it important?

KM draws linkages between research, policy, and practice. It seeks to bridge the gap between what we know and what is being done. Below you will find resources that provide background to KM and links to various organizations and people that have either an explicit KM mandate or are doing interesting work related to KM.

Knowledge mobilization (KM) is a contested topic. The resources below provide working terms, definitions and conceptual frameworks within knowledge mobilization.

The first stage focuses on relationship and association building and the second on developing interactive mechanisms. These stages and tracks demonstrate the numerous ways in which we are engaging in knowledge mobilization.
